Announcement for the international workshop of the AEGEE Summer University

Announcement for the international workshop of the AEGEE Summer University

One day non-formal education seminar for 30 young Europeans will take place in Prague as a part of the European students´ forum Summer University. The main aim is to access information to the young participants from the whole continent. They will be introduced to the recent historical events such as mass persecution and accompanying life in the labor camps in the 1950s. The seminar will be both theoretical and practical. An introductory lecture will introduce the topics of repressions, political prisoners, prisons and labor camps in 1950s in Central Europe. Such an introduction into the problems of postwar history is important for understanding the situation in Europe and perhaps even the whole world. Differences in development in Communist and Democratic countries will be compared in consequential discussion thanks to the diverse group of participants. Movies with former political prisoners will be presented and an open discussion upon the distributed book "Czechoslovak political prisoners" is expected. Come and join us, it is for free. :-)
